Dealing With Stress

Stress. I’ve had plenty of it these past few days. To my job, my blog, and just random everyday things, I’ve found myself slightly irritable and tired. I’ve been working hard writing posts for everyone, trying to get enough sleep, staying on track of my diet (which is technically done, yay!), and looking for ways to network. So I figured I’d tell you guys some ways I deal with stress that maybe you could relate to or use in the future.

The first and most important thing to me at least, talking to someone. Everyone has that one person (or I hope everyone does) they go to. Whether it be advice, a shoulder to cry on, or just their presence, you tell them pretty much everything. (maybe not EVERYTHING…) For me, that person is my mom. I call her my best friend, and she knows pretty much everything about me. She’s the one I’ve been going to to vent about everything and it definitely helps. Without venting, I probably wouldn’t feel good enough to try my other things to destress. I have to say, after a good vent session, I must be by myself. If I don’t get space I end up blowing up at someone (I apologize since it’s never on purpose and I feel bad soon after…)

Music. I love music and if you were to ask anyone I know what I carry on me, they would say my phone and a pair of headphones. Even at home, you’ll find me listening to music most of the time. I even listen to music for a little bit while I write my posts. Obviously avoid slow and sad songs for positive effects. Unless you want a good cry which can help too.

Social Media. Now my favorite is Instagram, mainly for purposes of funny memes. I usually don’t have time in the morning to go online since I get up at 5am for work, but lunch breaks=online time, getting home from work=online time and before bed=online time. I’m gonna count youtube as social media for a second. An absolute must: I don’t know why, but watching youtube just helps…

Now some people may think this is useless, but going for a drive. I’ve started doing this, this year. I think it has to do with having to have all your focus on the road, which leaves you with little time to think about what’s bothering you. I’ll go on an hour drive or so, but when I come back the stress comes back. So I guess this one is just temporary (it still works though). Also very short lived: my Bath and Body Works Stress Relief body wash and lotion. The smell is very calming ( which as a side note, lavender is also calming), it’s made with Eucalyptus and Spearmint oils. Feel free to check it out if you haven’t. Just shopping in Bath and Body Works is a relaxing experience in itself.

Hopefully something I listed isn’t something you already use. Feel free to one, it might just help! Music is definitely my favorite one so I’d personally recommend that the most.
