For the last post of 2018, I decided to do something light and easy. I know that I’ve gotten feedback to review more beauty/skincare products, so here’s something new for you guys! This was given to me as a Christmas gift and I was very excited to open it as I love all things minty.
First, let’s talk about the benefits of the two main ingredients in this body wash: Tea Tree Oil and Mint.
Tea Tree Oil Benefits
Relieves dry skin and eczema
Absorbs excess oil (antiseptic)
Anti-Inflammatory properties help relieve itchy, painful and irritated skin, and helps fight acne
Anti-bacterial properties help with wound healing and reducing acne
Helps soothe skin and brighten its complexion
Fights acne with its anti-bacterial properties. It naturally contains salicylic acid which helps fight acne. Vitamin A helps to reduce oil production.
Anti-inflammatory properties help soothe skin irritation
Locks in moisture by tightening pores
Acts as a mild astringent: cleans and tones skin
Can help improve blood circulation when applied topically, which can make skin appear healthier
Now on to my experience. I’ve been trying to use natural (or as natural as possible) products on my face and was curious to see if this product was just as good.
Turns out that this product contains no sulfates, parabens, dyes, gluten, phthalates, and propylene glycol. It also isn’t tested on animals for those who are animal lovers like myself. As the name states, the main ingredients are Tea Tree Oil and Mint. So it passed the natural test in my eyes.
The Shower Experience
Though it looks like the body wash is green when it’s inside the bottle, it actually comes out clear (it’s magic…or the green paper). It smells AMAZING! The mint smell is really relaxing and I compare it to the Bath and Body Works Stress Relief body wash. It functions the same and I love both. I first noticed that it lathers up extremely well compared to my usual body washes (bath and body works or soft-soap). It applies well but it doesn’t stay lathered up on my body as long as my other washes.
When it was time to rinse off, it left my skin with that squeaky clean feeling. I felt resistance as I was rubbing the soap off, which did let me know that this body wash was the real deal. I felt EXTREMELY CLEAN afterwards.
After Shower Experience
I suffer from really dry skin in the winter months. Usually after I shower with my other body washes, I still notice dry skin (especially on my legs). When it was time for me to apply lotion, I noticed that I had a significant decrease in the amount of dry skin I had. My skin felt really soft, squeaky clean, and fresh ( I smelled really good)! My skin also stayed moisturized for HOURS afterwards, which I was actually shocked about ( in a good way of course).
Just a side note here: This was the first time I’ve used a pump dispenser for body wash and I must say I’m a huge fan! It’s so much easier and convenient compared to picking up the bottle and squeezing ( I’m not lazy, I swear).
You may be wondering if there’s a tingling feeling that happens because of the Tea Tree Oil. While I have used Tea Tree Oil washes on my scalp and felt a nice cooling sensation, I barely felt any tingling with this wash. I’m not gonna lie, I was kind of disappointed.
